"needs instructions and a less sensitive mouse"
Overall, the game was pretty decent, but I have two major complaints. The first is, obviously, the mouse sensitivity. I would make the horizontal mouse threshold at least twice as big to allow room for error on the harder levels. During the last two levels, my computer was lagging and I kept zig zagging all over the screen, which made it almost impossible to aim accurately. Having a lower sensitivity would allow for smoother movements, which in the beginning of each level, where energy is crucial, is a must.
My other complaint is that there's no instructions to the game. Sure, it's simple, but I feel as though I'm being left out of the loop on what weapons do what, or what each enemy is. I had to start off each level that had a new structure by shooting it to see what, if anything popped out, usually to my dismay. To that end, I'm writing a basic strategy guide here.
The first thing you want to do in each level is fly from one end to the other. Take note of what enemies are where and plan accordingly. If there's an energy shield up, note what's underneath it and move on. Find a spot, usually on one side of the map, and begin taking down a basic building. If an enemy approaches, try to destroy the building, then fly over it and go to the other end of the map and repeat. Keep doing this until you've unlocked the laser.
Once you have that, begin fighting enemies. For missles and helicopters, fly over them and hit them with the beam. For turrets and tanks, try to avoid their line of fire, and engage them by themselves. a couple turrets next to each other is a headache, especially if they have a repair drone building near them.
Speaking of drones, make them your number one priority at all times. Anything they repair, even a tiny bit, will come back online to bother you. This can be a good thing though, as you can destroy that thing again and gain more energy from it. Work from the one side of the map to the other, targeting drone buildings first, airborne enemies and the buildings that spawn them second, turrets and tanks and their spawns third, shield generators and regular buildings forth. It all comes down to prioritizing enemies and working around them while you build up energy and unlock weapons.
On to weapons. The basic shot that you start with is crap, but it will take out a building and sometimes a repair droid or two. If you get hit, fly away from enemies and up into the air, select the cross and left click to use your energy to heal yourself. use these until you get the laser. Once you get the laser, you're pretty much set. Use it in pulses to destroy droid buildings, helicopters, and missiles until you get around 2400-2600 energy, at which point the laser will stabilize and you can fire it continuously without running out of energy. Go along the map, taking out droid buildings first, then enemies, then everything else. As you go, you'll unlock the charge shot which, at higher energy levels, is good for taking out heavily fortified buildings, like tank, helicopter, and missle spawn, in one or two shots. Unfortunately, it uses all your energy, so don't rely on it. Once you get the strategy down, keep going with it until you finish the game.
Things to remember: Missiles HURT! they do a whopping 25% damage every hit. prioritize them over helicopters unless there's a whole flock of them after you. To get rid of missiles, use the laser and fly directly above it. It will stupidly aim itself right into the beam. Copters can be taken out much the same way, but with more side to side movement, as they like to be on each side of you. With turrets, you just have to bite the bullet and park yourself right over them and kill them with the laser. Same thing with tanks, but you can kind of lead them a bit to avoid some of the damage. Also, as soon as you get a shield down, go straight for any droid buildings underneath it, then enemy spawns. As you chip away at the droid infrastructure, keep an eye out for rogue droids running off to repair stuff. With this strategy, the game took me about a half an hour.

I give this game a few points for how addictive it is, but there's three things that really put me off of it.
The first being that if I start back at level 1, I do not earn any more points until I finish the the highest level I have yet to complete, This is bad because of the 2nd thing, which is that when I played this game last night, I upgraded my cannon by 2 levels, yet when i came back to it tonight, I had the basic level one cannon, no armor, and all the health and bullet upgrades I had purchased. This has to be some sort of bug, which leads me to the third thing, which is that there's no way to clear your data and start over. What if I find out I've wasted my points on an upgrade that I don't want just yet? Or what if I want to start over with a different build? Unless there's a way to clear your data and start again, this game is currently unplayable.
Other than those three things, the rest was pretty nice. Smooth gameplay and nice music are a plus, as well as the concept. Just iron out those bugs so i can get my bubble thing back to the way I want it.

After destroying a couple deer, I guess I was carrying too much stuff because the icons stopped following me properly, wouldn't allow me to click on them, made the game slow and unresponsive, and forced me to quit. I think I had around 20 items in my qeue. The game told me to quote a link if there was a glitch, so I guess this:
http://bunnibunni.com/view.php?user_i d=185561
is supposed to provide you with something to figure out what's going on?
Otherwise, great game. I'll have to restart tomorrow to better organise things. This could really use a strategy guide though, as I'm generally horrible at RTS'.
Author's Response:
Try closing some browser windows and starting the game again. You game file seems fine. You can check on bunnibunni.com/forums and at the wiki for strategy help

The game was challenging at first, but once you got the hang of it, it wasn't that bad. I found that the best way to win was to make 2 piles of bodies, one at rach side of the area, then stick around in the center and add onto those as you went. The clones are only able to hit you when they are relatively level with you, so if you're lower than them, you can hit them and they can't touch you.
Some things that would've been nice would've been more powerups. Maybe a firing rate doubler, or a slow-time power up, or even some kind of rare "kill everything on the screen" style powerup. Psy powers could've been upgraded as well, to include things like levitating body parts to either move them or throw them at clones, expand the psy bar, or maybe a more powerful power that rips the clone apart and does some splash damage.
What I hated most in this game was the Mofunzone logo. That fucker cost me the game after I got so high up that the little altitude indicator bar left the screen. If it was really small, or up at the top, it might've been better, but as it stands, it's only getting in the way. Due to the way I was playing once I had gotten the gun upgrade, I had accidentally opened up 4 different Mofunzone windows, all near the same time. The resulting lag let a horde of clones into my little crater of safety which then proceeded to pummel me to death. Fan-fucking-tastic.
If the Mofunzone logo hadn't been there, I'd still be going, thousands of feet in the air. :(

First, a bit of pointless backstory. The first computer I ever owned was an Imac. I hated that fucker. It never really broke down, but no one ever told you how to take care of it. You know, clean out old files, make sure everything is updated, etc. etc. Well, after a few months, it began to take longer and longer to start up, shut down, go in and out of stand by mode, and I had no idea why. No one else did either. Then one day, it went into standby mode and never woke up again.
After that, we got a PC. It was easy to figure out how to clean it and protect it from viruses, so it never really broke in a horrible way, but it does have random fussy days where it doesn't work properly and I have to run virus scans.
Overall, I feel that Macs are... pretentious, if that's the right word. They want to make you think that they are so user friendly that you never have to worry about them, when in reality, you di just like any other computer. PCs are not much better, but they are more vocal about their problems than Macs.
Ok, now onto your video. I thought it was really well done, and pretty funny to. I liked the part about the mac-n-cheese, and the penguin. I honestly really hope that someone, somewhere takes your idea and turns it into a real series of parody commercials to rival the Mac ads. Better yet, I'd like to see PC ads that parody those ones, just so I can laugh and roll my eyes at both.
..Hehe... "Stop chasing me, I'm a penguin!" :p
Author's Response:
Heh, yeah... and you make a good point, with PC being more vocal about their problems. I like that about them too, but of course that makes Mac look like a superhero to the simple folk, since they think so highly of themselves. Macs have a lot of problems too, just like you said, and never want to take the blame for it... oh well.
And it's funny you should mention the mac n' cheese joke, being this is a Mac commercial parody. I wish I would've made some kind of link there between the two, heh... I'd own a mac if it was orange and shaped like a cheese wheel, totally. A few holes for USB ports or something. The Mac n' Cheese! Heh. I'd love to use that joke somewhere... heh. Someday, perhaps.
But I'm rambling. Thanks for the review, friend!

I played yesterday until around... was it level 75? I think it was 75, maybe 80. I planned to go to 100, but the game began to massively lag from all those outbreak things.
Once I figured out that the meter on the right was for how many cells you injected and not for how big you made the cells, my basic strategy was to look for an opening where I would have some time to expand a cell without needing to worry about the outbreak. This allowed me to create a giant cell, which would create its own interruptions that I could use to create more giant cells. After getting 4 or 5 really nice sized cells, I could focus on spaming a few medium and small sized cells to trap the remaining outbreak things.
After level 60, there was no real thought to it other than to get those giant cells out, then spam small-ish ones and the rest would trap themselves in groups of around 20 and kill each other off. Really, it was levels 20-60 that were difficult. It was an interesting game, but after so many levels of the same thing, it became boring. A power up system would've been cool, or maybe re/awards for beeting certain levels?
As a basic strategy guide, heres a couple tricks I found to work:
1.) Make a big cell near the side of the screen. as it floats up, the outbreak hits it and flies toward the opposite end. Before it gets there, make a big cell and launch it at the opposite corner from the first. As the outbreak hits it and deflects away, get a third big cell ready almost directly beneath the second one. Repeat until you have 5 or 6 big cells in place.
2.) always look to get the outbreak into groups. They are much easier to handle and much easier to kill that way. Sometimes it takes patience, sometimes skill, sometimes a few hits of the reset button. You're not penalized for hitting it, so feel free to use it. I did restart quite a few levels because they either didn't start the way I wanted them, or because I realized I was about to lose.
3.) Never use the smaller cell sizes if you can help it. They waste your precious resources and accomplish nothing. Always go for the bigger sizes, but don't get carried away, as a popped bubble still uses resources.
I haven't read all the reviews or anything, but let me know if anyone gets to a higher level than I did.

Well, it's alot of things. Now, I haven't watched up to this part so far, so I can only really comment on the first half, but so far it's kind of slow, not too hilarious, and pretty... odd quality in the animation department.
However, I wont vote it down yet, because I believe that it has some potential. Who knows? Maybe the ending episode will be awesome? I'll weigh in then, but for now, this series is only marginal.
My advice would be to try a different style with the graphics. I like how you used the actual pictures for the lolcats, but I dislike how the animation looks choppy and kind of shares the style of "first season" South Park.
The sound is good, but it really needs some kind of background music, or generaly more ambience to make it catchy. Otherwise it seems to drag a bit during quite times.
As for humor, well, honestly, it needs more. Much more.
Oh, and to Joe-kick-ass: These movies ARE being submitted on Caturday! Dont you know? Every day is Caturday!

This has alot of promise, but its problems really make it hard to enjoy the game fully. First, I know your working on it, but that glitch thing seems to be happening to everyone. Instead of trying to recreate it on your computer, maybe you could have a friend try it and see if they get the glitch? if they have flash as well, maybe you can figure out whats going on with the coding.
some suggestions to consider would be:
1. first and foremost, make some kind of healing system! im thinking a relatively cheap item you can purchase in the shop, plus maybe an extra item thats more expensive that heals you over time that you could possibly upgrade between matches?
2. more/better/easier to get upgrades. the ones you have are cool, but without the healing thing, i never lived to see them. some "intermediate" weapons would be good, though. maybe a "bot" helper that acts like a second player? or possibly some kind of shielding system? also, removing the level cap on upgrading your actual ship thingy would be nice. i was able to fully upgrade it, but never had enough money to buy any other upgrades, and died on the level with the huge, monster head looking things that the core spit out.
3. unlockables. being able to unlock things by getting higher scores increases replay value exponentially until you run out of stuff to unlock. suggestions for that would be new weapons, skins for your ship or backgrounds, new music, etc. etc. yeah, sure, it would increase file size a bit, but its not like this is a huge game as it is, right?
overall, decent, but definately needs alot of improvement to be great. take it back to the drawing board, iron out a few kinks, add a couple layers of polish, and your good to go.

well, i played it and cleared all three levels, the second one twice just for good measure. it had a good premise, but lacked the extra structure and variety that wouldve made it really good.
the challenge was there, but that was due to the slow responsiveness of the star. i found it best, once the asterois started moving faster, to move toward the center as soon as you hit the bunny. this extra space toward the center before the next wave came through made the difference and made it possible to clear the game.
however, figuring that out was the only real thing that this game had going. i can see you put some thought and time into this, but i can also see that it lacks optimisation, which gives it the huge file size, as well as further thought beyond what will happen after level 3. with proper optimaisation, you couldve easily fit a movie in there to show us at the end once we clear each level.
other than that, there isnt much to comment on. i would say go back and give it another try. like i said, you have a decent idea, but its poorly implimented. this, however can be fixed.
oh, by the way, i would like to state here that homer is a spamming idiot and should be ignored. hes trolled almost all the submissions ive looked at recently with "zzz" all over the place. if it was possible, id report his account to have him banned.

i wouldnt call this the best game on newgrounds, like so many have, but its definately good. i played through and won the scenario portion, and then went on to last something like 360 seconds in survival mode and get to tech level 13, before accidentally setting off a nuke right next to my launcher, destroying it. i couldve kept going indefinately if that hadnt happened.
other than the already listed problems, i havent encountered anything i dont horribly hate. i will chime in and say that the pause button should definately stop enemy movement, though. i had several times when i was called away from the computer and had to restart from my last save. it was very annoying.
for those that complain about how they died so quickly, heres how i did it:
on my first two level ups, i put one point into tech upgrades and 4 into stability. this gave me the purple and green weapons and the stability to fire them. after that, my next 3 upgrades all went into energy. this gave me the firepower to kill most of the stuff at that level. the trick on scenario is at the start of the wave, grab the green weapon and get it ready, angling it almost straight up, but slightly toward the enemy. when the first line passes over the crater, let the orb go and watch as it bounces off the walls, going faster and faster, until it hits the side of the line, instantly fragging all but maybe two or three of them. after that, use the blue weapon to knock the enemies into each other to clear them away.
keep repeating this strategy, two points into weapon tech, 8 into stability, then 15 into energy and youll have plenty of firepower to deal with everything. after you get all the weapons, put 5 points into the gravity thing so you can throw stuff around. this is very useful for the big guys, cause you can clear out a big group of smaller enemies with one really big tank. it may say that you cant move them, but if you click and move the mouse really fast, you can throw the big tanks with ease on level one
once you get all the tech, and the level 1 gravity thing, continue putting points into stability and energy. put 2 points into stability, then 3 points into energy with each level up. keep track of your stability with the highest tech weapon, and make sure you dont put too many points into stability. after you reach 90% with the last weapons stability, just pour everything into energy. at this point, though, you should be invincible, so it shouldnt matter.
weapon uses: i really only used the blue, green, gold, and the first red weapons in the game. the blue one was my main gun, and was used 95% of the time. the green one was used for when the enemy was in a line, the gold one was used on lone boss tanks to kill them, and the red one was used like the green one, but to clear out clusters on enemies instead of lines of them. the gravity weapon was used solely on the big tanks to throw them into groups of small ones, or another big tank.
other than that, try to keep your enemies at a distance. most of my killing happened before they even reached the crater. and definately kill the nuke tanks (the ones with the nuclear symbol on them) from a distance, otherwise, its doom for your launcher. the further back you can keep the enemy, the more time you have to recharge your weapon, aim your gun, think about your strategy, or fire extra rounds. keep an eye on the sides of the canyon, because some vehicles can almost be completely hidden under the overhanging walls.
ok, thats pretty much it. i hope this helps out some of you guys. and with that, im going back to try the next level of survival.
